What does design have to do with community change? Why should community civic leaders focused on complex social challenges care about the world of design?
Leading Systems Change: (re) Designing the future of Stanislaus County is a gathering intended to bring together key Modesto community civic leaders alongside our creative design community to explore opportunities to drive significant community change in our city and county.
The program will include:
MADWEEK Welcome - Lee Davis, Founder, Modesto Design Collective (MO.DE) and New Leadership Network Stanislaus member;
New Leadership Network Welcome & Introduction: Kate Trompetter, New Leadership Local Network Coach: Stanislaus;
Book Launch: Sharing excerpts from the forthcoming book “Leading Systems Change: A Workbook for Community Practitioners and Funders,” by co-author Adene Sacks, Program Director & Co-Facilitator, New Leadership Network, with lessons learned from the New Leadership Network Stanislaus;
Designing for Social Systems: an interactive design session with Thomas Both, Director, Designing for Social Systems, Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford (d.school)

About the New Leadership Network
The James Irvine Foundation New Leadership Network brings together diverse emerging leaders across issues, sectors and generations to learn, build relationships, collaborate and innovate for a better future for their region.
