Since 2008, Modesto, California, has been host to the Modesto Architecture Festival. Co-organized by the American Institute of Architects Sierra Valley Chapter (AIASV) and the Modesto Art Museum, the award-winning Festival has attracted as many as 5,000 people annually to our city.
As we enter our second decade following the 10th anniversary of the Festival in 2017, we've joined forces with the Modesto Design Collective (MO.DE) to broaden the content of the Festival beyond architecture to celebrate the creativity and contribution of the broader design community to our city. We're now Modesto Architecture & Design Week (MADWEEK) and we're excited to include content and participation from the fields of architecture, fashion design, graphic design, interior design, landscape architecture, product/industrial design, social design, and user experience (UI/UX) design.
MADWEEK celebrates design as both an art and a science, heightens public awareness of design and the value of architects and designers in creating more livable and beautiful communities. MADWEEK is an inspiring week of exhibits, films, installations, interventions, kid's activities, speakers, studio visits, tours, trainings and workshops, and other special events with a variety of community partners.
We're mad about design.
Stay tuned for more exciting news and mark your calendars for MADWEEK 2019, September 21-28!
